From time to time, Nate Diaz will jump in and remind everyone that there’s a pecking order in the UFC.
Jorge Masvidal opted to rematch Diaz over facing Leon Edwards, leading to the Brit accusing Masvidal of dodging him. Edwards then took aim at the “BMF” title-holder and can’t fathom why Masvidal would run things back with Diaz after he had already defeated him.
The history between Masvidal and Edwards stems from their backstage altercation in London in 2019, when Edwards interrupted Masvidal’s post-fight interview. His intervention prompted Masvidal to leave his broadcast commitment to deliver his now-infamous “three-piece and a soda” to the Brit in a short, violent exchange before security stepped in.
Ever since, Edwards has been chomping at the bit to get his hands on Masvidal, but it appears “Gamebred” has other plans. Edwards, who’s won his last eight bouts, thinks Masvidal has no reason to be rematching someone he already “battered” for three rounds.
Diaz chimed in, blasting Edwards and reminding him of when Masvidal “punked” him backstage. He even threw UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s name in the mix for good measure.
You got fucked up in the back for acting like you were tight.
This fight shit is the same everywere, in or out of the cage… don’t get punked ever.
That goes for kabob also,
you guys are in last place now lol pic.twitter.com/DNuNLBNsj3— Nathan Diaz (@NateDiaz209) September 8, 2020

With Masvidal and Diaz projected to run things back in December, that leaves Edwards with few options remaining as he continues his quest to land an elusive welterweight title shot.
